I have this poor old 1957 electric jigsaw, it was thrown out at a scrap yard. Cord cut off, busted off blade, busted off blade screw.
I removed the rear housing, that gives you access to the back of the motor, switch and brush holders. It was supposed to be held on by two screws, one is missing.
She works, I gave it 50v DC power with my adjustable power supply to test it softly.
Probably should be treated to fresh brushes and a complete clean and grease job. And a new light bulb.
How do I get that broken screw out of there without trashing it???
For a "home gamer" as it says on the label "FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY", it is built very nicely. I like it, I want to use it.
Somebody has been inside this thing fairly recently. The single screw holding the rear housing was forced in cockeyed, I oiled the threads and carefully forced it in than out than in again straight.
And it has two modern orange Marrette connectors in there.
It has very old masking tape wrapped around the lamination holding the wiring down, I really doubt the company would put paper tape on something that would get hot.
