1964 Tbird trunk replacement

I am preparing to drop the tank and begin the removal of the old (what's left of it) trunk and put in the new patch panels. Has anyone done this before? Any cautions? Any photos? Look forward to any advice. Cheers. Michael.

Get the metal as clean as you can, it should look like new.
Trim the best you can for the best fit, gap should be no more than the thickness of the mig wire you are using.
Tac, and verify the panels are aligned. Repete.
Get it all tacked in then weld in with 1" beads and move around with the welder
