Glad to see that things are finally beginning to fall into place for you (well maybe not quite "fall into place" ... more like "able to be squeezed in there a little bit easier").

Congrats on your well-deservered BangShift fame too.

Great build!

some colors...

THANKS!

So far this is my possible color's kinda in order.

Orange/Silver 2-Tone

All Silver

Black/Silver 2-Tone

All Black

I just need to find the proper Silver. The Ingot Silver on the Stock '11 Eco is nice.

Also which color will be top/bottom

The Silver Top/Orange Bottom is top of the list

I have had numerous trucks including my 427 Truck 2-Tone using white.

Just do not think it will look correct on this one . .

Maybe you need to use the stock 11 silver to pay homage to the doner. Is the 66 originally red? maybe a reddish orange or orangy red.
The silver orange is close to the overhaulin tan/ orange

Here is Ingot Silver the stock color on the '11 Donor truck.

I am thinking it would be neat to pay homage to the donor.

I am a big fan of Orange too, (obvious by how many orange veh I have done)
But it has to be on the right vehicle. And both shades of silver~orange have to be correct.

I am not into 4x4's but this truck looks nice in Ingot SIlver

I really like the cobra a friend own's too. Silver I am not sure which hue .

Here is Cobra chassis as I was moving into Scottsdale, AZ house~shop
Hand built the headers and gained over 100hp over other headers. He still owns the car.

How bright an orange do you like? I had a 76 Ford country squire that had a nice subdued more coppery color that I liked. It is not the garrish one they used on the torinos of the same vintage.
Early 2000's Grand Ams GT's could be had in a bright met. orange. Or the the pontiac judge red that looked orange?
I would think a met. paint would be best.

I agree it would have to be a metallic orange.

Love this truck and color combo.

A brighter orange, no gold or yellow tint.

like this?.....

Yes!

Now if I could only add the wheels and get proper stance . .

The Lariat trim wheels are a very similar silver. I can just leave them alone

Other update: The box will also be shortened more than the 2" needed for wheel openings to fit. Estimated box length closer to 7' kind of a different look. LOL

By raising the cab up the full 1" it gives me better options on the box fit too.
Everything seems to fit better, firewall, dash, seating, core support, box especially the box floor. I will just have to lower truck additional to get the desired look. Hoping for at least 2-3" lower than a stock F100 maybe more if I can. I already have a plan on how to do that once I get closer.

Ummm....can we get some details on the 33 (?) Ford with the SOHC motor??? And what about the 66 or 67 Cyclone with the dog dishes?

BTW - the 69 Judge color is Carousel Red. It's the same as Chevy's Hugger Orange.

Scott

HA! If you insist . .

I have owned a few 32-34 Fords

The Cammer Roadster had a stock inch 427 but was supporting a 1 of only 3 built 58IDA Weber Intakes. At the time these pics were taken it had been converted to EFI using a adaptor.

I also owned this 1932 "Holley" Coupe for a short time. Still kicking myself for selling.

You are really really slipping tho still a eagle eye. Look back at the pics and tell me what else is there . . LOL it has the magic "R" in the Vin.

'32 SOHC must have had rattlesnakes or something in the rumble seat as each time I gave someone a ride back there they screamed the entire time and refused to ever get back there again! Boy, when they screamed it hurt my ears. Did not want to go thru that again. Was not long and word got out as nobody would ride there . . Never found the snake . . :lol_hitti

The black comet happens to be a 1 of only 6 Built R codes. At time of pic it had only 17k original miles. I bought it as a young kid 20yrs old paid the tidy sum of 1500.00 for it @ 11,950 miles. In pics I had added a glass hood but had the original notched steel "R" code hood.

The photo of the 3 cars together was called the 1500 $$ shot or 1500+ HP big $$.

I had two other R's apart at same time and was too lazy to push them out without the engines. Hint hint

The Black 1967 Capri R code I have posted before but only those who really know what they are can appreciate them. Any car that could run bone stock mid 13's @ 105 on a open rear axle was a pretty fast car in 1967.

I had just freshened up the engine for the first time since I did it back in 1980 or so.

The 6113 Hookers I put on as a young kid so when I went back and detailed the undercarriage I left them on the car but added the custom 3" pipes. Best sounding car I have heard . . Using same mufflers on my current 427 '66 Project

A few friend stopped by this evening. One with his new EcoBoost F150 so we could make things a bit simpler to where the HVAC lines were routed, exactly how they were mounted, with what hardware and of course the biggie exactly how wiring is routed and plugged in.

Seeing as though My computer crashed and I have not transfered most photo's this was easier way for now.

4193BFC0-80A3-4989-9B07-7714B81A03CA.jpg

Of course I offered a free engine wash if he showed . . Most of those pics were taken with my better camera which are not uploaded yet. The Iphone automatically uploads about the time I update here. At a point I am too tired to think or type . .

Kind of like a v-8 with 5 plug wires off. Not so good

In a hour or so time we were able to pretty much figure out exactly how all wires ran and where they plugged in.

Added the loaded core support, wiring, intercooler etc.

Of course not before adding a fender and the hood to see if the much needed core support would work. (I have known all along it was no bolt in) After the cab deal knew this was not going to be the average picnic.

So once I find the sweet spot which looks 2-3" further back than a eco truck it just may fly! Of course that means cutting off front of frame section. Notching frame and moving core support mounting brackets! Another couple months and that should be done . .

If I do this right the stock '11 remote hood release will align with stock '66 hood catch!

So I figure cutting and welding about 11 times and I should be there!

The frame rails will have to be cut shortened a bunch, exactly where don't know yet.

After and IF I can get this all to fit with front clip mounted it will feel like the downward slide on the roller coaster it has been.

The place of stock Intercooler will be in FRONT of bumper so its gotta go. Will most likely have to fab up my own intercooler. Never done that before, sounds fun , . .

Falling asleep at the wheel now, my forehead on keyboard more than my fingers. More tomorrow!

Love it!!!! :rocker:

I've had dozens of muscle cars - hemi's, Z/28's, GTO Judges, SS Chevelles, etc., but my all time favorite is the 66-67 Fairlane hardtop. Love the lines on those cars. 66-67 Cyclones are a fav, too.

Tough to beat an original R code car -- the 67 Fairlane 500 is another R code, right? What's the story on it??? Do you still have any of the Cyclones or Fairlanes?

Thought about building an R code Fairlane for Pure Stock Drags, but tough to make them competitive running stock exhaust manifolds. Built a 70 Ram Air IV GTO instead and ended up making a trailer queen (Best Concours Restored at Nationals) out of what started out as a budget Pure Stock Drags build...

The SOHC roadster is pretty sweet, too. Lots of character and I'm sure it was fast as he11. Plenty of reproduction SOHC motor stuff on the market these days; maybe I'll get around to building one and stuffing it into an old Galaxie (or maybe a Pinto!).

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and color me green with envy!!!

Really nice original '67 "R" had 12k miles on the clock. Owned by a friend in PA until he died.

The springtime yellow "R" 500 if you notice the "R" Comet fender in background.

I have probably owned over 200 BigBlock Ford cars n Trucks thru the years.

Problem is I was never the one to get good $$ it was always the next guy. Sure enjoyed them though! I really do still have a soft spot for the 427 Ford's reason I have on in my Orange/White '66 F100 Short Bed. Should be the most powerful of the bunch too.

Here in AZ the emissions stuff is 1967 and newer. Its much easier to stick with the 1966 year and under. Interest now is in the trucks. Do anything I want to them and pay around 19.00 per year for plates. Insurance costs me under 200.00 per year vs 1000.00 per year per newer vehicles.

These 2 current truck projects will be my last projects other than the scooter I have had for nearly 51 years now.

I would like each of my 3 daughters to be able to drive a '66 F100 like I did way back when. Oldest daughter already has her '66 which has been her daily driver for 3 yrs now. I simply do not know how she does it. Loves the truck.

A couple pics of the "R" XL

I now have nothing left. 3 crusty old 1966 F100's, even my diesel truck owned for 9yrs is gone. Sold everything I could sell so I could do these final 2 projects.

I had not spilled the beans prior but the real reason I sold the firetruck, semi trailer, '02 diesel and more was so I could get going on these projects plus buy a stripper model 2015 XL F150 Regular Cab Short bed with a 2.7L for my daily driver.

I actually ordered a new 2015 F150 as described above back in October.

Getting too old to do this much longer and thought I would give it up and just have something I could tinker with without spending bunches of hours on.

The 2015 F150 is scheduled to be build the week of January 26th and should be in late february early march. Problem is unless my ship comes in I will be short on $$ to buy it

I love the SOHC roadster! Still kicking myself for not buying for $3500 one out of a boat in California in 1990.

The cammer was pretty good.

I always wondered where the term came from. Drove like it was on rails . .

Pretty sure that means a body and engine sitting on rails. Nothing to do with how it handled! LOL

As far as hood ornament instead of having V-8 Grind off part of the 8 to make it look like a 6. a 352 I can just put a decimal in there some place call it a 3.52

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. I sold several cars to fund my "out of control" 70 Ram Air IV resto. Not such a bad thing, however. I had too many cars and it was unmanageable, especially moving every few years (active duty Army).

Glad to hear you've got a new one on the way. How long do you think it will be before you yank the 2.7 for a SOHC, Boss '9, tunnel port 427, or ???

A 2015 F150 XL base with that motor is 7 grand less expensive here in Nova Scotia than Arizona before taxes after the exchange on the US dollar. Build and price on Ford.com and Ford.ca . It is a 49 hour drive though.

Maybe someone who would like to see the 66 would be willing to drive it down.

I wonder what state contract price is on a truck like that?

I wold think with all the pickups already that he'd go for a little 4x4 CUV. Maybe an Outback.

On Canada's pricing structure for the 2015 F150 . . LOL

I built identical trucks, one local one using MacPhee Ford ca zip code.

By the way. Taxes here are approx 2200.00 So how much is the price diff now equipped with my order options?

I should have made it more clear. Reason I mentioned the 2015 is there is no way I can do it now. The costs associated with these 2 builds will prevent that. "unless my ship comes in"

Not possible because my ship sank years ago . .

7:15 saturday morning. TIme to get work done & less keyboard time!

I am still not convinced its possible at this time to fit all this stuff in such a little space.

The box I am now worried about because I can put a flatbed on it if I have to. The front clip issue is close to cab issue fitting. Once & IF I get the front sheet metal on it will be downhill slide with only 1000 hours left in the build

Maybe someone who would like to see the 66 would be willing to drive it down.

I wonder what state contract price is on a truck like that?

I wold think with all the pickups already that he'd go for a little 4x4 CUV. Maybe an Outback.

I currently have "only" 3 pickups. None that work.

Please do not tell anyone but my current daily driver is a GM.

Its not a truck . . Its so old it was built by FoMoCo haha

My semi trailer will be going away soon. A Tech was here yesterday looking it over to see what it needed to tow it out of here.

No surprises other than a rat's nest the size of Rhode Island.

Which means losing my storage = spending more $$ trying to find a place to put all the junk. It may be cheaper to just send it all to the scrapyard as I simply do not have room for it all.

No way no how do I have the energy to deal with it on my own.

Next week I will be celebrating my 29th anniversary of my 29th birthday.

No clue what I will do next year.

(I quit counting birthdays @ 29 LOL)

The truck you built would be $25,038.15 US before taxes. I'm not sure what taxes you would have to pay here but it would be no more than 7% for a non-resident. So add 1752.00 for the 7% plus any import fees at the boarder and your local DMV. You could save a lot of coin if you bought your truck in Lethbridge, Alberta. Only a 21 hour drive to. doable in a weekend on 3 tanks of fuel or less. Your US dollar is doing very well at the moment compared to our Canadian dollar.

I did a fly and drive when I bought my last work van. That was 38 hour drive. Saved about 5 grand in the end after travel expenses. For filling out a couple forms at the boarder and a few days of your time, it's an easy way to save. Provided the vehicle is importable and you can have the warranty honored in the US.

News Flash!

I have very little time and it would take well over a 1000 words now to describe the feeling of this HUGE step in process.

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. I will let others come up with those words for me.

More this evening before I retire. And what all had to be done to get to this point.

I was just so excited a few minutes ago thought I would share this single pic.
