Have not had much luck finding one yet! Never did quite finish it up last go around. Still have to deal with the antenna hole being in wrong place and a zillion other little things.

5) Just got back from a 2 hour drive to go pick up another '66 Project

Did not get the project from this morning as the description said NO RUST.

He should have said Rust Bucket nothing good! WHen I asked him why he stated it was a long bed and not a short bed as advertised and why he said there was ZERO rust when it was full of rust.
His answers were> Everything has rust and no rust means there is just not very much! Long bed vs short bed reasoning was you can make a short bed from a long bed but not a long bed from a short bed.. To turn a long bed into a short bed you must shorten frame 14" in front in a very specific place then take another 6" out of rear section of frame. Same with box cut in 2 places.

Obvious his very selective photos were to hide damage and refusal to send proper photos as asked should have been first clue! Claimed he Worked for Ford Motor Company as a trainer! Good story teller dreamer if nothing else.

I had asked him a few questions about IDS since he claimed he taught classes on it but it also became very obvious BS story when he did not know basic stuff.

Currently have 9 different chassis

yep 9 different kinda loose chassis floating around. That means a lot of parts to build em all! I should just round that up to 10 so it doesnt look like I am slacking . . I though told age was for retirement? Starting to look Like I am planning 50 yrs of projects

Can you count the 7 different chassis in just these photo's? 5 1966 plus a 2018 & 1997

Plus chassis for RainBow Ranger and Eco2 not in photo's. Maybe I should have a covid-19 build a chassis party . .

Would love to have 2 man team for each chassis and just roll em out the door. enough of this one truck every 5 years nonsense

I hate it when sellers are misleading, but long bed vs. short bed is just downright dishonest (or ignorant, but doesn't sound like that's the case here).

That frame from the F-350 illustrates very well just how long a dual cab long bed pickup really is lol

Randy, I'm hoping this summer will see you with improved health, which will allow you back into your garage to continue with your much beloved projects. I know for most of us (okay, ALL of us) following your thread, your talents are awe inspiring! Myself, I thought I knew a thing or two during my years on this marble, but you have shown me so many areas that I haven't ventured into, making me feel so inadequate. I am (and will always be) in awe to your amazing talent.

And BTW, I am still hanging onto that NOS bed half for you...maybe this summer I can finally bring it to you. We'll see, depending on how this COVID **** wrings out in the months ahead.

In the long run I ended up with cab purchased by someone else. Fair amount of rust in inner cab corners back of cab but if used on my 2018 F150 rolling chassis I have corners left from Eco1 I can use. Widening rear opening the 6" needed to fit chassis will take car of rust. Body damage to back of cab left side I can fix. A project many moons down the road.

Hoping this year to have 3 on road but at rate I am going it will take another 3 yrs to finish orange truck. It was a year on April 4th since I drove it last.

I listened to entire thing! My immune system is really really messed up but I think its more from the antibiotics given. Still having allergic reactions and my left hand has not healed in probably 3 yrs now. Gets close then starts all over. Major feet lower leg swelling now that started on Sunday. Got to point I was on road trip and finally had to quit driving legs swelled so much it got scary . . Went out 2 weekends in a row and drove around 1800 mi just on eastern side of Arizona. Places we had never been before. In a rental truck paid for by insurance as wifes car got totaled back on April 8th. Jerked around by insurance until yesterday they finally paid up had to really get down and fight them on value. Didn't get much else done in that 3 weeks. They dug heals in and said this is all you get! They learned a few lessons in vehicle valuations and proper vehicle condition reports.

Bit of progress.

























Fuel tank for F100 Raptor finally done. Took many months. Still need to do wiring and few tubes/hoses.

After TIG used body file to get all radius’s nice then sanded up to 3000 grit for final finish.

Engine transmission now in place.
Spent a TON of time on ‘56 BelAir re-wiring it then messing with AC trying to get it working properly. Mel now driving it!
He has owned 32-33 yrs so must feel good to be able to drive it daily. LS3 swap a total pain but sure runs nice. A bit of transmission programming with lockup converter and will be better yet.

Rainbow Ranger been collecting dust n bird **** for a year. Quit working on it after finding how bad the right bedside really was. It’s time to finish it or dig a ditch n bury it. It’ll have to be a keeper now as so buried in it in time & $$.

Chassis has been done for over a year. It’s taking up too much space all apart.

Nice progress on the fuel tank! I might suggest a couple of heat shields on those exhaust pipes if you can squeeze them in. Not sure if they're truly necessary, but it seems like it might help keep the fuel from getting hot and creating a lot of vapor for the evap system to have to manage.

That's a lot of filler on Rainbow Ranger. My uncle bought a Charger at an auction once and it had a sheet of bondo on the front fender between the wheel well and the door that was over an inch thick!

Holy ****!!! That's a bit of filler on that bedside.

I painted a 240Z for my BIL many years ago. When he bought it the car actually looked pretty straight. When I got into it I found that both rear quarters had nearly an inch of filler on them and holes drilled into the sheet metal for all of it to hold on to. Ended up replacing both quarters and turned into more than a sand & shoot job.

Well, Randy & his lovely wife came yesterday morning & picked up the NOS bed side, then were back home before sundown. It was great to finally meet the man, the myth, the legend!

Now that is laughable! More myth than anything.
Was good to finally meet you!
Home before dark. 1665 mile trip!
Lesson learned. Don’t buy or rent a dodge.

Spent only 2-3 hours blasting edges, corners and bumping out the one dent behind wheel tub. Looks great! Amazing how nice n straight otherwise for 50+ yrs old. Now ready for install.











Not sure how but managed to get 100% of dent out. Was stretched a bit but with a bit of shrinking and more hammer n dolly work no filler needed! Lucky...

Bit more progress on the TT 540. Left header just needs bit of final welding. Right header well on its way. Now to figure out best position for turbos and still get everything else to fit!

It followed me home, honest...












Frame, chassis & Dana 60 already powder coated. If anyone in rust belt states looking for a nice chassis & cab to start with this is it! Have clear title, door tag which all matches with chassis. F100.
Also have the full disc brake setup.

I bought it for frontclip & maybe the box.

So that one started life as a F100 & is now wearing F250 suspension? Is the disc brake front suspension in the bed also F250?
After seeing the flanks on that bed, you probably didn't need my NOS one after all...BUT, what the hell, it was still a good excuse for a road trip for the both of you, to take in the sights & to gain a little NOS goodie for the trip back home.

Man, those headers sure look sweet.

Glad to see my NOS bedside went to the right guy. Can't wait to see it welded in & in paint!

I was really nice to meet you & your lovely wife.

I was & have been searching for a right fender and hood along with inner fenders. Only way I could find them.
It was parked in narrow driveway and I never noticed 8 lugs. He offered free delivery, a tailgate & the 5 bolt disc brake setup along with a nice drum to drum 9” then came down 500.00.
The Dana 60, powdercoat frame a bonus.
Since frame, door tag & title matched
1965 F100 I went for it. Box floor not as nice as I hoped but sides are very very nice. He also threw in a new back glass.
Lots of good parts for sure.

Rainbow Ranger will get the NOS bedside.
Will try to sell off what’s not needed.
18 mo until retirement...

Another major allergic reaction going on now. Hands too swollen to work. Unknown reason... kind of like almost exactly 7 yrs ago.
