Is that parts cleaning syrup you use to clean the gauge parts legal in the lower 48?

That parts cleaning syrup is actually EvapoRust! So yes not only is it legal in lower 48 but it's actually Biodegradable! If you want clean hands just submerge your hands in it for about 30 seconds! When I am doing any kind of cleaning I always have a open container for small parts like this glass measuring cup. Thanks!

For cleaning it really depends on what it is. Any small parts that will fit in a 5 gallon pail I use EvapoRust for cleaning anything that needs cleaning.
Its how I restored even the seatbelts and seatbelt hardware. Drop 'em in the bucket and give it a few hours. (I always keep checking to not over do it)
I then fire up the steam cleaner and get it very hot around 240 F. I lay them on ground and clean them. They go from not bending/flexing but to looking like new. If there is any fading I use a dye/paint to bring back the color.
If it's carpet in good shape I get a big pot of water and boil it (without burning it) then I use RIT dye along with some heavy glass beading rubber gloves and I put a white sock over the glove I then dip my hand into the now nearly boiling water and simply wipe down the carpet as many times as needed to bring back the color! Of course this truck carpet was toast it needs replacing but may do a small section just to demonstrate.
Any parts that are dirty dirty I use the steam cleaner and clean them. And will use "Magic Soap" if need be. With the steam cleaner (have an extra if anyone is looking 500.00) For engines, transmissions, engine bays and undercarriage I always steam them first then if need be hit them with magic soap and repeat until clean.
In case of the large bezel for AC unit I dunked it in evaporust for 30 min then flipped it around (would not quite fit) waited another 30 min then took it outside for a cold water rinse.
Any and all items that go into the Evapo Rust get rinsed and I keep a few brushes by sink when needed.
For the Lenses on gauges I use the latest 3m compound 36061 which I buy a gallon at a time. I also use this compound on any painted surface, any chrome part or other smooth plastic parts, It's what I used to clean all my glass inside and out. I have at least 5 different polishers for various different pads depending on what I am buffing. I will take some pics.
I timed myself on restoration of the Amp gauge and from time it was sitting to time it was in photo op was exactly 15 min. To take it apart, polish the lens, polish the needle face and cover over gauge face, clean the housing from grime to new, paint the needle, clean and polish the metal outer bezel and have it all back together! Ready for the photo op! All the while running a million object obstacle course! Climbers, hikers don't have nothing on me, Just make a few trips across my garage . .
