Hey guys, I've recently aquired a 1967 Camaro. I've been watching the st. louis area craigslist like a freakin' hawk. But I can't seem to find a few particular parts. Stanger suggested I get into a couple camaro specific forums. I've been looking for a good forum to join, but I haven't found a real good one yet. If anybody knows of any, please chime in.

Awesome project.

Z28.com is the biggest Camaro site, I think. They have a section for first gens.

Well, I need a passenger door shell, as well as a defrostor vent duct. I need a set of rs tail light lenses, and the hide-away head light motors. I need an rs grill, and a four speed. I date correct motor would be nice. Also, a correct rear end would be great too. I could use a console as well. 4 speed linkages/z bar are things I also need, assuming I go with a 4 speed. I need a lot of things that are too big to be shipped. The car is kind of a frankenstein. The rear end for example: The centersection is dated 1968, and it is a 10 bolt. The stamping on the axle tubes indicate that those are from a 12 bolt rear end. Motor is a 1970 Corvette engine. Trans is just some off the wall turbo 350. The ******* before me hid A TON of stuff under fiberglass.

Bob thanks for suggesting asking for specific parts, but like I said, most of the things I need right now are sheet metal or drivetrain stuff.

+1....Year 1 has everything you need...pricey.Your gonna have to search for the motor parts etc. I've restored 3 old Camaros...the headlight motors are wicked expensive...did a 67 RS, car was totalled..replaced the whole front subframe etc...car was originally a 6 cylinder convertible..god awful ugly gold interior..nice 327 and a black paint job later...wish I still had it.

well first thing I will ask is about the rearend
how do you know its a 10bolt? are you just looking at the number of bolts on the rear cover? I am not a chevy expert but I came across info one time that said that not all 12 bolts have 12 bolt rear covers. some have 10 bolts on the rear cover but still have the 12 bolts on the ring gear.
I really dont see how you have 12 bolt axle tubes with a 10bolt center unless someone did some chopping on the rear end (which could have happened)

having the 70 vette motor is not a bad deal...

so what is the plan? a resto or a toy/driver
