Hello folks!
I'm new here but thought you may also enjoy my newest purchase!
A Craftsman 397.19580 1/3HP Bench grinder. Stamped September 1967 on the bottom.

I foolishly/excitedly plugged it in as soon as I got home and sparks flew out of the bottom and the breaker tripped. After opening it up to inspect its overall condition I was super excited at how clean it was!

I have since repaired the issue. The black wire from the power cord unplugged itself and touched something it shouldn't have. It blew half of the connector off. After repairing it, she spun up beautifully!

The paint on the back side of the block is in bad shape with some rust forming. I plan to tear it back down, clean everything, replace the bearings, pick up some Hammerite and repaint this beautiful beast. I have not fully used the grinder as I don't have new stones yet and don't trust the ones that came with it.

$10 find from the Facebook marketplace; $2.79 for a pack of connectors.

My phone died while taking pictures but I plan on taking more as I progress. This will be the 'before' album and as I go I'll add to it then create an 'after' album. If I shared this properly then the link should work for everyone.
