I have a chance to buy this boat. It comes with original manuals and reciept. It has had one owner and now it's for sale since he can't take it out anymore. It runs good and seems to be in great shape for the age. No hull repairs or anything like that. The trailer comes with it and is in nice shape too. I guess he just had a grand put in motor last year with new coil, distributer and three plug wires since they don't make the 4th one anymore. What do you think it's worth? I have never owend a boat and figured would be a good starter for the bay and river. Any info would be great. Thanks:)

As long as the transom is solid with no rot or big crack and solid id guess around $1800 if its all that , kinda oldie for a first boat, but at least its an outboard if the motor goes just pull and bolt up a new one.

$500 to $1000....Less ~1/3 because it's autumn. Old fiberglass boats arent really worth much.
Those old motors are real gas guzzlers. Even if you can find parts, it's getting harder to find someone who knows how to tune them.

It has a built in tank thats probably fiberglass and you'll have trouble if you you use fuel with ethanol .

MFG originally had the contract from Chevrolet to make corvette bodies in the early '50s.

Only problem could be the outboard, if it's not worn out it could run for years. Replacement motors can cost more than the boat.
value? $1200-$2000

Those old MFGs were built like brick sh?t houses... Heavy, and solid. I know, I had one in the early 70s, and it was indestructible. I managed, (in Ohio) to mow down and destroy a gas pump with mine (forgot it was behind me!) and didn't even scratch the gel coat!

Worth? Well, considering its weight, and age, probably not a fortune. But I figure it will last durned near forever if you don't do something really stupid.
