Thought I'd post a pic of this combo I picked up last week. Sorry I have a crappy cellphone camera. ;)

The top box was manufactured in 1974, the roller in 1972. It's been repainted at some point, halfway decent job. There is a hole in the handle of each drawer, I don't know if he lost the key or what, but I guess they were sticking a rod through to lock it. Overall, pretty good conditon. Just gave it a good cleaning, some new drawer liners, cleaned and lubed the friction slides and it was ready to go. :D

EDIT: ADDED SOME STICKERS TO THE LID

Very nice . How many boxes are you up to these days? :spit: Do you still have the Rick Mears KR537 setup?

Out of curiosity what do you keep in that deep middle drawer? I tried one of those boxes once. Nice boxes, but I seemed to have issues getting my hand stuck in that drawer; the width to depth ratio just seemed off  But I ain't the brightest bulb out there so YMMV? :dunno:

Yessir, I still have the Mears box. Looking for an older KR 300 with the roll down front to put it on. I like the deep drawer on the Craftsman top box. Haven't decided what to store in it yet, but I do like the depth of it. Never got my hand stuck in it, though. ;)

Those are super. My favorite era for Craftsman boxes.
I've got a little 3 drawer and a riser sitting beside it.

Cool stack! Craftsman boxes from that era are my favorite Craftsman boxes. The boxes just have great balanced clean lines.

Why thank you sir. I was brought to the site way back when, on a Cornwell toolbox somebody just an hour from here had bought and was posting about.

Found the thread you were referring to...

Also found this one in the same search, which is funny b/c that one originated b/c I had been planning to buy the exact same combo that I got in this thread.

The restoration on that 537 was just top notch. Total inspiration for me, I've read that thread many a times over. That would look sweet on an old roll a bench. I too would like to find one of those. Do you still have the 537/547/557 complete stack? If so you must be a tall person. Yea, I'm pretty clumsy, after I got my hand stuck and dang near ripped the drawer out, I decided it had to go.

Yep, still have the 537/547/557 stack. Those are the ones I'd have to keep if I had to get rid of everything but one box. That's just a classic setup. And my first SO boxes.

I'm 6' 1", so to look in the top of the 537 I have to stand on my toes a bit.

Thanks again for the kind words.
