It has come time to sell my CJ5. I have just lost my desire to have a wheeling toy, and with my recent car accident it isn't comfortable to drive it even short distances any more. I'd rather have the money to invest in my new GT, or pay off my motorcycle, but, on to the description.
1973 CJ5. Appears to be fully a 76+, but is registered as a 73 model. Fiberglass body, 4 inch YJ lift springs, 35 inch tires, 4.88 gears, D300, full 6 point roll cage with 5 point harnesses tied into frame, AX15 5spd conversion, and 4.0 FI swap, with many more small mods. Runs great, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it several hundred miles, as long as my pockets were deep enough to visit the gas pump enough to make it there. Now the few negatives. The trans rattles slightly in the higher gears. Doesn't affect shift quality in any way, and it could honestly not be a major issue, up to the buyer to decide that. Transfer case leaks a slight amount of fluid, I believe it is coming from the rear output shaft. Leaks a very small amount, and then stops, once again, not enough to hurt it. No top, I had this as a toy, not a daily, so I never bothered buying one. Also, a minor thing, but the cheapo repro factory clock and tach have some rust forming on the chrome. I also believe that the certification on the harnesses has passed, so they would need replaced to visit any of the major off-road events in the area. I would like to get $7K OBO and I am flexible. Shoot me some offers, the only thing I can say is no, and I will not be offended. Also, I would be interested in trades, especially tools and cars, so shoot me what you have, least I can say is no. Located in zip code 28610. Please PM or E-mail me for any more info or more pics. Thanks guys.
