Hey Guys,

Just wanted to share my latest toolbox acquisition. I bought this off the truck the other day, it was a trade in.

According to my dealer, the guy who traded it in was the original owner, and bought it new in '76.

I couldn't pass it up. Its in really nice shape, the bottom front panel (removed) has a few dents, but other than that, everything looks and works great.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, I really don't need it. I'm sure I'll figure something out. Maybe will be kitted with a specific set for the welding or machining area of the shop.

Oh yeah, I gave $300 for it.

I had a set like that years ago. The top box is a KRA59, don't remember what the bottom is. I'd give 300 for a set like that in a heartbeat !

I bought a similar set last year with intention of restoring it but haven't gotten around to it yet. Good luck with it. BTW, those Snap-on emblems go for some nice coin on ebay. Yours look like they are in pretty decent shape.

I have the same toolboxes. Bought mine in 1987. Painted it fresh same colors and the tags from the Bicentennial were supposed to be Blue background with White Snap on logo, so we painted them to match. I even have an original Winston Cup Racing Bumper Sticker under the hood. We taped it off to save it. Then put chrome door edging on the drawers to dress it up.
Still own them today, they are at my Dad's place up in NY. I am going home in May and I will take photos and post it.

I’m impressed that a guy who bought a new SnapOn box in 1976 (which of course is 50 years ago) traded it in for I suppose a new SnapOn box. The guy must be at least 70 years old and still wrenching or at least still building out his tool and tool storage collection.
