Might be picking up this drill press if its still available. Any one ever hear of this brand ? Im assuming its a pretty good model considering it was made in 1979 and isn't some cheap chicom ****. The guy is asking 100$.

It's Taiwanese. I've seen them in person. But still functions fine. IDK prices on the Islands...but I'd give 40-50 out here in CA...

BTW, they were based out Compton, CA https://www.closerlooksearch.com/businessbackgroundsearch/T/Transpower-Tool-Co-Inc-California.html

Here's a thread on similar. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178849

EDIT: looking at your CL, that seems to be a good deal. Also, FWIW, that's a good sized chuck-5/8". But OTOH a lot of 5/8" chucks go no smaller than 3/16" (IIRC-someone correct me if I'm mistaken)...so if you are drilling a ton of #60 holes, you might want to check that. Just a heads up.

Interestingly, some of the Taiwanese companies moved their production to mainland China and still make the same DPs there. Quality from Chicom now is generally much lower than last century on the island.

The two governments are still rattling sabers and don't speak much diplomatically, but there are billions of dollars of investment flowing between the two.
