I was wondering if you guys could give me your input as to the value of my Mac toolbox, with Cornwell side cabinet and butcher block top. The lathe, accessories, and grinder are not part of the sale. The Mac box is in near perfect condition with no rust and only a few very minimal flaws (like the 2 tiny drawer chips next to each other on the top/center of the 5th drawer's face), the Cornwell side cabinet is almost as nice with 2 perfect working drawers and a pair of shelves (though I'm nervous to remove the stickers and decals due to 25 years worth of paint fade).

The butcher block top will obviously have the 4 lathe mounting holes and the 2 grinder holes, I just figured someone could glue matting down over the top, or add a 1/8" sheet of masonite.

I'm located in SF bay area and I attached the link for a current CL post of my exact box (without the side cabinet and top) located 25 miles away from me, for reference. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/tls/d/vacaville-mac-toolbox-tool-box/6931391392.html
I don't want to get screwed over, but I also don't want to keep this Mac box around for months or years as my new HF box is coming in a few weeks and I'd like to free up shop space.

I appreciate the advice! :)

Tool boxes are like bench vises in that the value varies by region. If you hang around here long enough, you'll see this repeated in virtually all, "What's it worth?" threads.

With that said, if you posted your rig in my area, it would sit forever at $695. It would probably sell in the $400-$500 range.

As an example of what I'm talking about, the attached MAC setup, with the SnapOn addition, has sat forever at 900 locally.

^^^^ totally agree. It's a bad picture but I paid $400 for mine.
I'd say that's a $200ish box in the midwest.

I have the 6 drawer version of that box, talked the seller down from $150 to $75. Then I had it powder coated as the paint was AFU.

I appreciate the input! I was already planning to list my setup at $500 and hope for an offer of $450 (ish). My dad told me not to take less than $450 but I had to remind him that if you look outside of the Snap-on/Mac/Matco/etc circles, tons of higher quality Chinese boxes are priced from $500-800 new with more options than my Mac setup offers. Plus many folks have a hard time getting their hands on $500 cash vs. putting a new toolbox purchase on a credit card.

I almost bought a similar MAC box, in Santa Rosa, for around $500. Couldn't get him any lower, so I bought a Cornwell.

That said, everything in the Bay Area is expensive.
