Thats awesome, thanks Scout for the look back in time. The Ertl's caught my eye and the countless hours I enjoyed them as a kid. Just seems so odd looking thru there and seeing no listing for metric versions of the sets.

Talk about bringing back memories. That tractor in the last pic,the articulating one ,is a 2+2. Big but only about 150 hp.I used to run one.

Thanks Scout!
Very nice stuff.
In '65 Dad bought a Red/White Scout and we had it as a service truck for 9 years.Then bought a '74 304 4wd P/U.
We should have kept the Scout. :)

My Avatar is my '75 Scout. It was originally an IH dealer's service rig. Its got a couple small battle-scars, but its only got about 22000 miles on it. You are right, you shoulda' kept your Scout. :)

Tools kind of expensive for '81 eh? Good to see with 30 years of inflation, that the tool market wasn't affected so much. LOL

My Dad has told me that those tools sat on dealer's shelves when they were new. They were just too expensive for most people to buy. The 3/4" drive sets were more popular though, just because there were no other options for 3/4" drive in many locales.

The "Field Grade" sets (the red case sets) were made in Taiwan, the "Shop Grade" sets (the blue case sets) were made by Wright. Excellent tools.

My dad has the radio on his Cub Cadet...I think it was in the IH product line through the 70s, maybe in the 60s.

He also has the 3/4 set.

I've got the 3588, 1586, and Axial Flow toys. Good stuff.
