So friends, I wanted to share some pic's of my Italian made Compair Kellogg branded compressor. It's a 2 stage pump, aluminum casing and I think, cast iron liners. Powered by a industrial Baldor 5hp single phase motor. I purchased it new in 1984. Originally it started life as a 3 horse. when I got it home I decided to upgrade the motor to a 5HP Baldor . I also wanted to up the CFM a bit and installed a considerably larger motor pulley but stayed within the factory maximum RPM which I've long since forgotten what that spec would have been, which were the specs provided by sales literature at the time but since lost decades ago. A short time later after the purchase, the dealer had sent the correct model sticker to replace the wrong model number, daren't I lost that too. So I never Knew what model pump this actually was. That was 41 years ago. believe it or not it still runs like new, when it probably should have died maybe 35 years ago. In 41 years the oil still looks clear and new and half way between the add and fill marks. Really pretty crazy. I'm aware the old cast iron "real" Kellogg American pumps can last for decades as well say, like models such as 331TV, 335's and so on, IMG_20250320_142042921_AE.jpgIMG_20250320_142054137_AE.jpgIMG_20250320_142316695_AE.jpg but this is not one of those. Anyone else have one of these? Also, notice the larger motor pulley, Hasn't phased it in 41 years.

Make sure the tank isn't full of water, I have a 1957 KA352.
Funny you should mention that. just did today prior to preparing painting some cabinets LOL. Yeah, always wanted a 352, shop I once worked at had one pumping away in the corner of the shop. Loved how darn quiet those ran.
