1985 barn build

....been thinkin bout posting my barn build that I did in 1985...so, here's a quickie...it's 28'X 32' x 11 foot at the eaves. I built it myself except for help with the concrete and the roof joists. I started forming for the concrete on Sep. 23rd.
...It's built with 2x6 studs that I rescued from a pole-built corn crib that were tongue and groove; I cut the tongues off the one edge to get a smooth face.
The upper floor is at 8' high.
I had a total of $175.00 in lumber at this point.

...I used my 53 Chevy pickup as a movable scaffolding to nail the high stuff.
I bought my metal siding directly from Morton Buildings in Morton, Illinois.

...the stairs is about 3' tall at the eaves with walking heigth thru the center.
I bought a pair of used wood garage doors and stained em to match.
In this photo you can see the finished barn (as I call it cuz it has a loft),...finished up on Oct 25th ...one month and 2 days after the start.,..not bad for a one man band.
...glad I did it the when I had lots of ambition.

...nothin special inside just for storage, cars & parts, junk...a friend owns the 53 now, but I've got a 47 p.u. now...among other oldies.
