Working on a friends truck. I removed the plenum because it has a slight hesitation while driving and I could reach the plugs.

I found oil in the plenum, I had to use rags to soak up the oil. Either someone over filled with oil or some serious blow by.

I only removed one plug and it was dry. Any thoughts. I think I'll change the oil and see how much is in there. 930

Bad PCV valve? The engine would have to be in really bad shape to pressurize the crankcase to the point where it would force oil into the intake plenum. Typically, the air circuit for the crankcase is to take in air from the clean side of the air filter and then draw it through the crankcase and then admit it into the intake of the engine through the PCV valve

Sorry, I don't know much of dem 4 bangers. :badteeth:
4.3's and I'd try to help you out. Good luck!

PS- maybe sneak around here- http://www.s10forum.com/forum/

Great place - I hung out there when I had a 94 S10. Mine had the 4.3 V6 - they were notorious for leaks in the spiders for the CPI. I don't know if the 2.2 had the same fuel injection setup but if it does, then is it possible that you are looking at fuel deposits instead of oil? When the fuel leaks like that it can make a small oil problem spread.

I asked the question on the S-10 forum

This is a one owner truck with 115,000 miles. The only vent on the valve cover goes to the plenum, but no PCV in the hose?

The PCV valve should just pull out of the valve cover. I had the very same problem last summer and it was a bad PCV valve. I replaced it, the plugs and wires and it runs like new again. Mine has 236000 KMS on her and it had the original PCV and wires. I bought mine new.

Take off the oil fill cap, put your hand over it with engine running. It should have slight suction, if it has pressure buildup you need to check PCV, if that is OK you most likely have blowby from the rings....
