This is used to power a 3 phase piece of machinery (lathe, mill, grinder, bandsaw, etc) in your shop or garage. A rotary converter such as this will have no power drop to the motor as a static phase converter would.
This was on my 9" swing lathe in my old house. When I moved I powered the garage with a 10hp unit for multiple machines. It is in perfect working order as it was wired and kept in lathe cabinet/stand. Just a little dust on it.
Now you can buy a 3 phase machine instead of shopping all over the planet for a single phase or having to settle for a smaller chicom brand.
Wire diagram is printable directly off the Convert-A-Phase website. Its very easy.
