I'm starting this so I can track the progress of my shop build.

Specs are 28X30, 12' walls, and 2 10X10 doors.

Decided to insulate the south and west walls. I used R13 behind the plywood. The plywood also serves as an anchor point if I decide to hang anything on the walls.

I am mounting my 80 gallon compressor outside to free up space. I also ran an outlet for my mig welder.

And today I started assembly of a pallet racking system that I will be using for storage. I got this setup from a business that was closing up. $200 for all of it:thumbup: They were selling 12' and 10' setups. I opted for 10'

There will be a workbench going in the middle where that little table is lol.

Next on the list is a 4 post lift.

Also did a diy floor coating. Forget the brand. Whatever HD sells. Been holding up good so far.

Looks great. How many lights do you have? Currently waiting on my 30x30x12.

That floor turned out pretty nice! Mine was done at some point but is looking pretty poor at the moment. Been lurking for ideas.

Thanks dmc. I acid washed it 1st and also put a clear coat on it. It's just a 1 part coating from rustoleum. Floor won't be driven on so I went cheap.

Starting to come together. My favorite addition so far is the pallet racking system.

Mounted the air compressor and built a cover for it. Going to run air lines this week.

Just finished up the air system. I used a mix of 1/2" black iron pipe and 3/4" pvc.

Looking good slow62!

I'm jealous of our pallet racks, I need some of those so bad.

I'm diggin your floor, mine is the exact same color and paint flecks.

Keep up the good work.

Got my 1st project in the new shop lined up. Installing subframe connectors and doing an E85 conversion on my sons 89 LX mustang.

Still saving up money to finish the concrete slab and install a lift.

Installed the lift yesterday with the help of my son and my brother. Turned out nice. Being 6' 4", I'm glad that I got the XL model. Don't mind the mess. Snapped pics before I got around to cleaning up lol

Looks good, I have a 24x30 metal shop too. I like how you insulated the walls and such. How did you wire up your compressor outlet and your welder outlet? I'm at that point in my shop now, getting power to the building.

Do you have any problems with moisture?

Look at post 4 and 14.

The compressor is wired to a water heater disconnect switch like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Siemens...N1taBMkuR3OLNa0dGPgaAnM_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

For the welder I simply added a plug next to the breaker box and I have a 30' extension cord for it. No issues with moisture...

Thanks. For your supports for the wall. What did you use for the horizontal supports? 2x3s then some metal brackets?

Thanks. Sorry for the questions. First metal building like mine with similar ideas.
