Hi to all.

Looking forward to continue reading about the site.

Main reason to join was to learn more from fellow mechanics and to hopefully find replacement parts for my Larin (LY-3) 2 1/2 ton floor jack. Have had it for a real long time and my son has laid claim to it when I keel over.

Anyhow - I noticed a ball bearing (from the rear steel swivel caster) laying beside me when I was changing the oil in my truck.

Gotta admit, laying on the garage floor looking up at my truck's oil pan and then glancing over onto the floor beside me to notice a loose ball bearing had me a tad perplexed for a second or two.

Ordered replacement bearings and should get them in a day or two. But I'm having a hard time finding the plastic bearing retainers.

It's a white plastic bearing retainer (2-3/16th OD X 1-1/16th ID. Retainer holds nine (9) 3/16" ball bearings.

The steel swivel caster is a 2 - 1/16 steel wheel that's 1" wide. The steel caster wheel has a 1/2" UNC 13 thread swiveling (shouldered) stud with a slot cut into the top for a flat tip screwdriver to hold it in place while tightening the nut/lock-washer.

One bearing retainer is cracked all the way through and both are plumb worn out. Can't see buying new casters if I don't have to. The jack's seals are tight and right and it has faithfully worked for me for decades.

In hind sight - prolly shoulda greased the bearings instead of being lazy with only 30wt oil.

Anyone know where to get replacement bearing retainers? Do I need to give more info about the swivel caster?

Sure do appreciate any advice in advance.

Rick
