Running 2-2-2-4 to garage, in conduit under ground (the outside portion is about 25 feet)

With that said this is the wire I used

https://www.wireandcableyourway.com/2-2-2-4-aluminum-mobile-home-feeder-cable.html

Is it required this be in conduit also in the basement? Im told it can be in conduit in ground but doesnt have to be, but curious about my basement. What is needed?

Running this with a 70 amp breaker, so under the max on it.

Would this be good for a 100amp service also?

Even tho it’s larger than 8 gauge? Thought I read it was ok to not be in conduit inside basement.

It doesnt have an overall sheath so required to be in conduit.

Where did you hear that larger than #8 doesnt need to be in conduit?

MHF needs to be in conduit inside a house, barn, garage etc. Once it's outside you can direct bury if you want. If you don't want conduit in your house you can use same size wire but it's labeled SER. But once SER goes outside you have to terminate it into a large 8x8 or 12x12 junction box

SER is permitted for use aboveground outdoors...

In regards to the conduit run, where we are coming into the house it is running the same direction as my trusses, i need to run about 25 feet to the east along the truss, the issue is about half way i have three 2x10's can i drill through those to run the conduit through?

Once I get through that, i can get to the electrical panel, hopefully run flex from the hard conduit over to my breaker box

I’ll snap a pic tonight of what I’m working with. Old house... had I researched a bit more I would have not drilled into the house where I did. But options were limited

I like the screwed plywood around it idea to add strength

Here’s a quick gallery of my proposed route. I think it should work but not sure if it’s ok to go through that triple beam. As well as going through the 2x8 above the box with the conduit you see me holding in the last pic.
