2-2-2-4 SER application, and installation

I'm condensing a few breakers to slim breakers, but same size. I plan on installing a 100a breaker in the main 200a panel in my house, and running wire from it, approx 100ft, to another breaker box in a new shed I bought.

Can I just run 2-2-2-4 SER cable from one roof to another, directly from the 100a breaker, and into the breaker box in my shed?

That application if I understand correctly what you plan on doing would require conduit, and #2 aluminum used in a subpanel can only have a 90A breaker max to use a 100A breaker would require a larger wire size.

You want to run it overhead, unprotected?

You need to run overhead service drop cable that has a messenger support wire and it needs to be installed at the approved height above the ground.

no you cant do that. no way to support the SER plus it will droop and look like ****

You would need to use a Quadruplex cable for the outside aerial part. Supported on each end with wedge clamps connected to insulators. You would have to switch over to a different wiring method for the indoor wiring
