been eyeballing these and pulled the trigger on the stanley version of these that have polished pulls to help match my lower box, but UPS must have ran over both of them. they come in destroyed, so i returned to store and bought these on the black friday sale. ive got a call in to husky to see if the pulls are available separately.

this second run of boxes are better quality than last years offerings. the metal is a larger gauge and the bottom of the drawers have 2 rectangles stamped in them to help add strength. the slides are ok. they wil be fine for what im going to put in them. craftsmans heavy duty or premium duty will be better quality, but i wanted full depth top boxes.

i had thought about a hf 44 top, but its red and only 8 drawers. most name brands have the same drawer layout and just wouldnt work for what i need. the price is too high on most upper chests anyway.

turned out ok.

Who knows?
That looks really good man. With your toolchest being sandwiched in there like that you really can't hardly tell the difference in width.

Gotta say though, I'm more jealous of the horizontal filing cabinet! I bet that rascal is handy!

thanks! I've got 2 white ones as well. Has Flip up doors and an inner tray that slides out. They are medical files. Really handy if you can get them cheap. On roller bearings too. One of them is loaded with bolts and short metal scraps.

Looks great! I ordered one with free shipping to put on a base cabinet. Husky black-on-black full depth top chest is a bargain @74. It's neither flimsy nor super stout nor ultra pricey so it works out great for a top chest.

Is there anything between the boxes? Like a sheet of plywood or anything?

Personally, I would add a sheet if there isn't already. That way the weight of the upper boxes is spread evenly across the entire top of the bottom box, taking a lot of the weight off that center line. Where the two top boxes meet. Cause as you load those up, they're going to get pretty heavy, I would want to spread the weight better. That's just my opinion though.

The matco has the factory mdf that's been sprayed with truck bed liner. It made. Good work surface lol. Gone now.
