$2.99 Stanley hand tools @ Ace.

You need a card to get that price.

Even without the card that is a good price. I'm planning on picking up another set of chisels (paid $10 for the same set several years ago) and a leverlock tape measure.

*sigh* my Ace was sold out of the chisels. I had just given my set to a friend at work expecting to pick them up.

My favorite utility knife. I'll have to go and get another one.
Made in U.S.A. with global materials.

Just back from Ace.
Got the Knife.
Knife blades, also U.S.A./global materials.
Chisels, China.
$9.53 out the door.

These Stanley tools have usually been $2 with Ace Rewards card when they have a sale like this. I hope this $2.99 thing is only for this particular sale.

I really like that utility knife. It takes a minute to figure out the blade holder the first time, and the instructions don't help, but it works well. If it's difficult, you are doing it wrong.

The pry bar is the 12" Wonder Bar, not the much better Super Wonder Bar that has been part of similar sales at Ace (July, January?).

Here is a "how to" vid for anyone having trouble loading the blade.

Stopped by today and picked up a knife and tape measure. The utility knife appears to be made as well as the first one of that style that I bought over 10 years ago. That one saw several years of use in a professional residential construction environment and is still going strong today.

I passed on the other offerings.

Thanks OP

The chisels aren't bad, I picked up a set to use when I don't want to risk my better chisels.

Made it by one of our local Ace stores today. The Stanley tools are still on sale for $2.99 and this store had plenty of stock.

Got the knife, knife blades, set of chisels, pry bar and a tape measure. The tape measure is for the wife. Maybe she will stop borrowing mine. Think I'll put it in her stocking... :)

I might have to run over to Ace and pick up one of those knifes. I have a Stanley knife that is about 20 years old, and it's the first thing I grab when I need a utility knife.

I have one of the Craftsman ones, that are almost exactly like this and flip open. But instead of a screw holding the back half together, it is a push button thing. I think they designed it thinking you could open it without a screwdriver that way. But the problem is when you push down on it hard or it is under heavy use, the knife keeps wanting to pop open. Poor design. I think this Stanley one won't have that problem since it has a physical screw instead of a push button.

This knife has a button on the back also.

Is it like this? If so, I'm going to pass. Because this kind of knife keeps popping open. And/or the blade keeps falling out.

Stopped into my local Ace store today and the sale is still going on. They are also selling a dremel 3000 for $49.99. Thought that was a great price as well

WTF on the chisel package it says "Hardened for resharpening?" How about "Hardened because they're frickin' useless otherwise?"

Not Stanley but ACE also has the 8 Pc. Craftsman cushion grip screwdriver set for $19.99. Not a bad deal for some of my favorite drivers.
