Looking at 10 ton 2 arm puller. The 2 I have narrowed it down to an Urrea 4234B or the Proto J4234. Both a SBD, price difference why I'm looking at the Urrea. Needed for 2 projects sitting in my shop. Used Protos are as much as a new Urrea.

The Urrea should be made in Mexico, and the Proto should be USA. Whether or not that matters is up to you, but I personally wouldn't assume they're 100% identical. Saying that, they are probably dimensionally very similar, if not identical, and Urrea stuff gets good reviews here. For sure the Proto is an excellent product and I have several of them- the jaws are thick and sometimes that means they don't fit, but they're as bulletproof as a puller can be. They also make this puller design in three jaws.

If I read above correct you say they are both SBD but unless built for Uurea buy Proto they have not been under the same ownership for like 40 years. They were PROTO Mexico which used to be all part of the IR Proto tools North America group same as Canada was but that ended and they kept making a lot of tools in the same design and manufactured the same way. So they may or may not be the same tool just don't know.

Urrea stuff is fine as long as you do not need a warranty.
They claim 100 years warranty, but do not honor it.
I do buy some of their tools, mostly from ZORO ,mostly beater screwdrivers because they are good quality for the $.
Older Proto clone ratchets and Armstrong made ratchets were good, but the Taiwan ratchets are not nearly as good .
They have a prese in San Antonio, TX.
