It's handy, I use it for odd and quick jobs, but to be honest, I had it in my head it would be more accurate than it is (miter slot wise). I'm getting a femi 782xl soon, so I can make more accurate tube/stock cuts. I cut anything I can jam across the table, but it's almost 1 degree off and try as I might, I can't adjust a correction in to it.

Oh, I thought you said LARGE disc sander! LOL!

Yeah that thing is a bit overkill, great job on all the fab work!

Thanks. In all seriousness I'm hoping I'll like a 12". Tax time is coming and I have the 12" JET and a femi bandsaw earmarked.

Holy **** bud, I had no idea you had this going on. Heck, I almost feel guilty. :)

All those turned out great. I luv that fab wing, something like that is going to be in my near future. So any projects in mind that prompted all this?

Thanks LXCam.

Yeah it's been a busy and expensive 10 weeks. I got the 1st Lista, then built the benches and stands, then built the press, then some electric hoists and the second Lista. I'm still working on the brake attachment for the press, but have some delays.

To the second part of your post...I'm getting a little (ok ALOT) frustrated with my occupation, so I've been looking into CNC plasma and ornamental iron types of thing. Maybe I could supplement my income nicely, maybe do well and go full time. Not sure yet. Up until I buy the actual table, I have no problem tooling up and improving things, even if I don't go in to business. I've got a lot of thinking to do, a lot of practice and study....if you see me buy a plasma table- you know it's game time !!!

That's cool and all.....but I'm having enough trouble saving the required pennies for a 12" JET !

Keep in mind, that a 12" disc sander is about half of a 20" disc sander in both size and use as most turn the same speed at the motor, but the actual SFPM of the abrasive is drastically different. If you want a cheaper compromise, get a 9" disc on a 3450 RPM motor.

Well if you do decide to go that route you're heading down the right path. It's always easier if everything you need is bought and paid and organized long before you take that leap. Having been there and done that couple of times the satisfaction of doing it yourself is great, just be prepared for the pitfalls that come along with it as well. I hope it all works out and goooood luck :)

Jeep, since seeing your fab wing I've been thinking how perfect that would be for my welding table. I was wondering if you have used it yet and what your impression is after actual usage. Are you happy and or would you do it differently next time. My welding table was literally made from scrap handed to me through the years, so all though totally functional for my needs, it's now time to finish that beast. It's already 7ft long, so I have some room to play with length wise. I'm thinking what you have would be perfect, but would you have gone bigger if that was even an option?

Thanks Cam

I used it to do my shop press build. I def like it, I really spent a lot of time getting it flush with the plate, so I would do that for sure. If I do anything different at all, I would drill 1 row of 6 or 8 holes in the middle of my plate to catch the other end of longer items, but so far so good. I can't say that a bigger wing would do anything for me.

I had him make that little 1x1 wing to use loose for setups, and that I can say I would do 100% again. I've used that on every project for something.

Thanks brother. I just spent way too much time checking out their site and I think I might pull the trigger on the 30 x 24.

I like the concept here, quite simple and basic enough to change a little. My own benches are from scrap and one of these days will do a new one with the end modified a bit with a simple version of the certiflat in the overhang. Very similar to your dimensions.
The only other changes would be modified shelf and cutting grate with catch box on other end.

Coming back around here. I needed to give a shout-out to my secret santa buddy BFBOB, he sent me these really nice bench clamps because he saw I was building these benches.

I was kind of reluctant to sink these bolts in the middle of my virgin 3/4 plate, so I had a buddy turn some shouldered nuts so I could use these Pony clamps with my fabwing hole pattern. Works great, already been using them this weekend. Nice to have these 4 in addition to the standard stronghand stuff.

Now that you've had this table with drilled wing on the end, how do you like it? Is there anything you'd have done differently if you could do it again?

Asking for a friend.

I'd put another one on the opposite end, or just buy a large FabBlock separately.

Well thought and excellently executed.

"I love it when a plan comes together"

Good job on the workmanship too. You clearly take pride in your work.

I think I used the same exact casters for a mobile wood rack/cart that I use for sheet goods and timbers. I got mine from Amazon for a decent price. I put (8) of those suckers on that cart base. Overkill??? LOL I wanted the cart do glide as easy as possible since a Ton adds up quick with sheet goods.

I just wanted to mention that I put a tractor bucket on the base fitted with said casters, lifted the front of the tractor with them, added more ballast in the bucket and then drove back and forth to load test them. I'd say they passed!

I'm ordering more of them. I'm going to make something similar now at about 50% scale for a steel cart.
