Recently had a 2 car detached garage built at the end of my driveway (22x22). I took pictures each day to show the progress the builders made. I did the inside myself, and it's still a bit of a work in progress.

First off we had to get some trees removed and I needed to clear out some bushes and planter boxes.

Then the real building began.

Once completed I started finishing the inside. I'm not the handiest guy in the world but I figured this was a good time to learn a lot. Is it perfect? No, probably not even close. But I worked with materials I've never used before and tools I've never used before. I did almost all of it myself (my wife helped when I needed an extra hand here and there) and I'm proud with what I accomplished. It's functional and I think it looks pretty cool too. Again, not perfect, but it's a garage!

Nice ride. I like the look of everything you have done on the inside, outside look awesome!! Like you said in your posts you are learning and you will slowly move things around, redo things and change things. You will def learn a lot on this forum thats for sure.

My 24x24 garage was an open canvas like yours was right before you put any sheeting up on the inside.

Where do you live? Do you live in an area where it gets to temps you will need insulation or where the humidity is high to where you will want it insulated? It will help keep your car nice and clean too, not dealing with big temp and humidity changes.

I did insulate the walls before putting up the sheeting, but I haven't insulated the ceiling yet, it's still all exposed. This is my first winter (outside of Philadelphia) so I'll see how the car handles the cold in the garage. If it's bad then I'll put a ceiling in and insulate up top. But I figured I'd see how the winter goes first.

Thanks!

Thanks! For now I don't need to use that storage space for anything other than left over lumber I could use later. But it certainly can be used for storage at a later date. My main reason we got this was because my attached garage was just filled with too much stuff, mostly from my kids. They are still young so that wasn't going to change anytime soon. I also hope to one day buy an older car and work on it, so getting a 2 car garage for me was important. I want to keep it as clutter free and clean as possible. So far so good.
