My wrench holder for my metric ratcheting wrenches is loaded from 6 to 19 by 1mm increments. There are two more spaces on the top end. Knowing that not all metric sizes are actually useful, what two sizes would you purchase to fill that up?

What vehicles/machinery/equipment do you most commonly work on?

I’d add: 22/27/30 for Honda/KTM dirt bike axels, but I’m guessing that doesn’t apply to you?

I'd probably just wait until a project comes up where you need a different size.

If you buy 2 right now, you'll inevitably end up needing a 3rd size and THEN what are you going to do when you don't have enough room?!!!

Those slots are for extra 10mm when you lose them...

Seriously I'd probably go with 20 & 21 because skips bother me but 22, 24 or 27 would probably be more useful in future for me.

Just add another wrench holder, so you can start a second set.

From the sizes above 19mm i personally use 30 and 32mm the most. But i also work on really odd vehicles.

WHY?? I you have extra cash looking to give away pick ME!! If you really have to ask sounds like you don’t need any. Flame away boys. But be realistic….not everyone has the means to fill an empty space “just because “
You mean you don't just buy missing sizes to fill the hole in your heart?

I have wrenches in 41mm, 42mm, 43mm and 44mm. Why? Because I do dammit. Someday when i come across a 41mm bolt I'm going to look SO cool!

Well…out of those sizes 3 are boat anchors. 41 & 46 & 50 are the only ones I have ever used and they were on Komatsu excavators….large ones

41, 46, 50, 55 all common on the mining processing equipment i work on.

Completely generic answer, given no context...

The next preferred thread size is M16, which is 24mm in both DIN and ISO, so that first.

M14 isn't a preferred thread size. It's 21mm in ISO, and 22mm in DIN which is more popular so I'd go with that.

Another way to answer this question generally is to look at what manufacturers are including in small wrench sets such as this 14pc 7-24mm - the only sizes above 19 are 22 and 24, which agrees with my above. They excluded 9, 20, 21, 23.

I don’t have a mine in my backyard.

I do have an assortment of large combination wrenches. Imports of dubious heritage, but they do the job on the rare occasions I pull them out.

They live in my late grandfather’s craftsman carpenter box, on the bottom shelf. No way would I use scarce space in a tool chest for something I might use once a year, if that.

I would skip 20, and buy 21 and 22.

But… then I would start looking at garage and estate sales for everything up to 32 except 31… and then look for 34 and 36… and then see what happens…

Those darn GM fuel filters. (old GM TBI setups) = 20mm. But I guess adjustables would work in this case.
