2 gang to single centered switch cover

Do they make a mud ring that will work for a standard 2 gang boxes like the they do for the 4x4 junction box so I can use an oversized single switch cover without all the extra screw holes?

That appears to only work w/ the junction style boxes w/ the screws on the corners.

Attach some flat stock behind the tabs, screw with nut or tack weld.
Drill and tap a new center hole for switch.

To my knowledge they do not make one. You would have to custom make a mounting bracket like yatg said

the picture on the right is not accurate as it has the device centered but the box does not have threads in the middle. it is designed for 2 devices.

I have never seen a mud ring for a handy box. How about a plate that is toggle on one side and blank on the other. Or a two gang plate with a filler? I would just use a two gang plate with a dummy switch on the other side.

I just saw that you used decora covers as an example. I can't get the two gang decora/blank to upload. There is one available though.

I didn't notice it at first but you might be right. The only way that might work is if you attached the switch to the face plate first and then attached the cover to the box?

Guess I'm a little OCD there and can't get over seeing that huge black space on the side.

What about attaching a two-gang flat mudring designed for a 4sq box, by attaching to the box via the device screw holes. Then attach a single-gang mudring to the the two-gang via machine screws and nuts in the outer corners (where mudring would attach to 4sq box). Then install your switch to the single gang mudring.
