What I’ve built here is a 2-inch, baby bullet-style vise inspired by classic designs like the Wilton, York, and Buffalo, with a nod to similar Soviet-era styles. This is my personal take on a timeless tool that’s been reimagined countless times over the past 80 years.

The body is crafted from a composite of iron-infused plastic filament, while all major components are steel. It’s about 2/3 the size of a baby Wilton and weighs just over a pound. I’ve recreated all the original options: it includes a power arm, a standard base, and a clamp. And yes—it functions as a tool. That said, most buyers use it for display or light-duty work, such as jewelry-making.

Important Notes:

I’ve used a variety of materials—PLA, TPU, and carbon-fiber-reinforced filaments—each chosen based on the tool’s proportions and mechanical needs. The material weight plays a crucial role in both functionality and design.

Let’s get one thing clear: I’m sharing my version of a classic tool—not claiming to have reinvented the wheel. If you’ve made something similar, I’d love to hear about it. If you’re just here to nitpick, dismiss the work, or whine about material choices without offering constructive feedback, feel free to move on. Uninformed criticism isn’t helpful to anyone.

Other Info:

I don’t sell STL files. I sell the finished product. Proceeds go directly into building new machines and developing new designs. Upcoming variants include a rear-jaw version, a toddler-size model, and possibly even a fractal-jaw concept.

Thanks for checking it out. If you’re building cool stuff too, I hope you’re having fun doing it.
