2 Lift Shop

I have a Ben pack non symmetrical 10,000 LB two post lift in my center bay and just bought a 9,800Lb. 4 post alignment/inspection/ parking lift with a sliding pneumatic scissor jack for the Number 1 bay.

I am stoked to have the additional lift as well as the extra indoor parking space it brings. the only detractor I can think of is the loss of clear floor that comes in handy for the glamour shoots when we do photos and videos.


So for the folks that have more then one lift in their shops could you offer any tips or suggestions before we land the new lift tomorrow?

Well a lot of 4 post lifts have casters to move around when empty. So put it where you want
When you want it . That’s what I’m going to do .

I have a 2 post Rotary SPOA9 as well as a 12,000 lb Snap on (Wheeltronic) 4 post alignment lift in my garage. The 4 post has to be anchored to the floor do to its design so its not moveable. I would make sure to take a look at how close the 4 post will be to a wall, most of them come with specs for clearance on all sides. Too close to a wall and axle work can be a problem if your pulling an axle shaft out and don't have the clearance. Also my 4 post is designed to have the ramps left on when up, they act as a wheel chalk so the vehicle can't roll of. This creates a problem trying to drive another vehicle under the raised lift. Park a large vehicle where your planning on putting the lift and see if you can live with that floor space permanently taken up. I absolutely love having both a 2 and 4 post lift, each has its place in my garage. Don't forget to take into consideration power to the pump as well as air if yours uses air locks.

installation begins. Got a late start and it took a while to clean out the shop but we were ready when the lift showed up a 3 this afternoon.

got in 3 solid hours and made a dent in it.

Please elaborate what it is about its design that makes this the case. I have a Challenger 4015XFX 4-post on order and really need to understand if bolting to the floor is absolutely necessarily.

direct lift 4 post stacker . can be bolted down or used as modbile use around the shop .

did 2 of these for a friend this past fall . this was the first one . the sale guy i have been dealing with for over 20 years said he has one in use for 5 years + for a guy who does truck bead coating and vehicle undercoating jobs and he is super happy with it .
