I have a small 2 bay detached, heated slab garage, 2 bays. it's 32 wide and 22 deep. All tools and equip are going to be stored along the right side 22' long wall,, so space is at a premium.

I have 2 Migs, Lincoln SP-100 for sheet metal, and Hobart 210 for larger stuff. Plan on getting a Lincoln SW200 and small plasma cutter soon.

I plan on a small roll around welding/fabrication table, maybe 30" x 50"

My dilemma is the welders, make 1 tall, 3 shelf cart for the 3 welders?
the 2 migs on one cart and the Tig on it's own cart? put the plasma under the welding table?

I work mostly on unibody cars, so the Lincoln SP-100 would need to be drug around a car on stands,, The Hobart is used making jeep bumpers, etc.

Ideally would be a cart for each,, but I don't have the room for that.

Thoughts?

Food for thought.. I made a caddy for my SP-100.. it sits above my Multi-matic...

One cart takes up less space. And unless you plan on having somebody else welding at the same time you are, there isn't really a downside to 2 welders on one cart.

An option for th eplasma would be to not worry about having it on a cart. They are generally light and easy enough to pull out when needed. Unless you are using it a ton of course. Thats what a buddy does and its worked well for him. He has a shelf under his fab table that he stores it on and can use it from that location quite a bit.

Then id just build a "three shelf" cart with room for two bottles. Then the two migs and the tig can be on there and also have the gas. Or if you mostly use the 210 at the fab table you could make a shelf under the fab table and have a qd gas setup for it

All my welding carts have a tilt and drop bracket I designed to hold a Miller Extreme plasma OR a Miller Maxstar 150.

Here's a few photos for inspiration.

The first photo shows two TA migs and provision for plasma above bottle rack.

This second photo shows a closeup of the bracket for plasma cutter.

"Multi Welder" carts get huge at one point I had a MIG, TIG, Plasma cart with a toolbox and all that. I came to my senses and have a small cart for MIG and my little plasma then a cart for TIG and cooler... I find the smaller carts easier to stow and easier to pull out and use. I also have to store Bottles and so forth too... So it is not just the footprint of the welders...

Both mig welders on the same cart, they use the same gas. Put the smaller machine on the bottom shelf. I have the Handler 185 on the top shelf of my welding machine cart, when I weld under the car I have to set the machine on the floor beside the car. Otherwise most of my lead is ate up dropping down to floor level to get under the car.

Put the TIG and Plasma on another cart. Don't put them under the weld table, all of the grinding dust from the weld table will drop into the machines. TIG machine on top shelf, you'll want to adjust that more than the plasma.

Yeah,
I did not want to try to be dragging a "skyscraper" around each time I need to weld.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I think I am going to make 1 cart for the 2 migs and 1 bottle of C25/75
I'll make a 2nd cart for the TIG, and just keep the Plasma on a shelf.
Agreed on NOT storing any of the machines under the fab/welding table.

Thanks,
Slack

Inless you never need to weld something outside of your garage one large cart is what i would do.

But i need to weld things that dont fit or i dont want in the garage. I have my hobart 210 on its own cart. Plasma up on a shelf between the two garage doors. My Tig will go on its own cart.

I also have a two bay garage (24x24), but really only one bay thats useable the other side if filled with tools
