How bad are the threads, maybe you can clear them with a well oiled pipe ****** as a chase. In, catch, out oil , in catch out oil, a bunch of times to clear rust or debris. It can work if the threads are not too bad.

I cut 4 slots thru the threads on a ****** to act as a tap. I only ran it in a couple of times, mabey I need to do it more!!

How does it look? Starting to see enough clean thread to seal a joint if you put some teflon tape and a bit of sealant on them. It's just compressed atmospheric air correct. Not oxygen.

:dunno:I found a 2" x 11.5 NPT-It weighs 4 lbs. BAN (Bare A-- Naked)-Let me know if the other method does not work............Cranky

Tee tape the males and apply a thin layer of dope over them. Rectorseal # 5 if available, any good dope will do. If you can run it in 4 to 6 threads and nice and tight it should work OK.

Thanks for the advice. I've been doing plumbing on the side for 20 years. I've got several friends that have rental property and they keep me busy. Toilets, faucets, vanities, waterheaters and other assorted leaks. I've always used the dope with teflon in it and on water pressure it has always worked, but this 2" plug at 140psi leaks--LOL

If there is a steam and or tractor show near you check there. I have sold several of them there. Maybe a want add on craigslist. Good luck John
