I have a question regarding cure time on a water based 2 part epoxy - Rustoleum EpoxyShield. Documentation puts cure time at 12 hours for light foot traffic, 24-48 for heavy items and 72 for vehicles. In doing a search, I have seen recommendations of up to 7 days before parking on epoxy floors, but that seems to be for solvent based epoxies. I haven't seen anything other than the 72 hour recommendation for EpoxyShield. I'm trying to find the right balance between ensuring I've provided adequate cure time and being able to park our cars inside. I applied the EpoxyShield five days ago and the conditions have pretty much perfect for curing - 70-75 degrees in our garage and humidity around 50%. The epoxy is not tacky anywhere (and hasn't been from the 24 hour mark) and I leave no impression in the surface when tapping on it with my fingernail. At this point, how much benefit is there in continuing to wait?
