#2 phillip bits

I know this is an odd question, i did a search and didn't come up with any answers. What is the board’s opinion of the best brand or type of #2 Phillip bits. Reason i ask is because it seems like i can burn through quite a few of those things quite fast, i would like to have one that would last quite a few screws.

From what I can recall, a lot of people are going to say Apex.

Personally, I like Bosch bits b/c they're easier for me to find and buy in a pinch.

Edit: As billymade mentioned, Zephyr is also very reputable. Of the two, Apex *may* be easier to find.

I know how you feel babyjay8495. The absolute best bits are made by a company called Zephyr. I think their bits are used on manufacturing assembly lines. They make bits for Brownells (the gun parts and gunsmith tools company), and I am fairly sure for Snap-On also.

I think there may be some issues (like a large minimum quanity) if you try to order direct. When I looked into this, the company I was planning to order from was:

I think you have to tell them what you want, and they will give you a quote. I never ordered from them, so I can't tell you what they are like.

This is one of the few times I will say this but, SNAP-ON, lifetime warranty, even on a #2 Philips bit, HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! suckers!!! (of course you better be paying one money every week to get it warrantied)

Yeah no kidding! We used to break several of them a month where I worked and we didn't use Phillips bits all that much. The $0.99 grab packs at Lowe's were way way better (ended up going that route after a while)

I have been beating the **** out of some Pratt Read bits I bought myself when I did the order. I am very impressed with the quality. I completely destroyed a #12 phillips machine screw with one, the bit did not cam out, and there was no visible damage to the bit. I have some #2 phillips insert bits and 2" power bits in stock if you want some....the price is good too.
