Bought my Rotary couple months ago , really happy so far.

First purchase was a oil caddy! Very handy!

Next I found a ****** jack for $65....he said it was broke from new!! Filled it with oil, works great!!! Lol

What does everyone else have? My next is a air hose reel, Debating putting another power reel on the other post. So ld have air and power on both posts!
Has anyone else done this or is it a waste?

A couple 8 foot jack stands do wonders for extra stability if you ever plan on doing serious reefing on something.

That drain kinda *****. Sorry to tell ya, but wheels are ****, unstable and both we got free from car quest started leaking out bottom of tank within 6 months. We have welded both up and adapted new front castors
There are much better ones out there for only marginal more $$
You have the most badass lift they make, some of your accessories if you use them a lot need to fit that catorgory
Trans jack ***** for fact that lowered height is way to call to do a lot of suspension work, or to easily lift a trans on and off it, as its way to tall, that's why they make 2 stage trans jacks

My favorite accessories:

Magnetic trays - one for each arm of the lift for lug nuts/bolts

LED flexible neck desk lamps from IKEA that I mounted to round magnets - can hang off of the lift arms or suspension/chassis/etc

120V outlets that magnetically mount to the lift posts - these drop from the ceiling outlets and were made with SJOOW cord/male plug and 2 gang outlet boxes - nice to keep extension cords off of the floor or plug in the lights

2 stage transmission jack for flexible working height

Under lift screw jacks for adding support for exhaust work, additional safety, etc.

Big square transmission funnel for the top of my roll around oil caddy (made by Lisle)

Roll around pneumatic shop seat for brake work

Rubbermaid roll around cart for keeping all of the tools at hand and rolling quickly out of the way for jobs that require the lift to go up/down frequently


Probably a few others I am forgetting too. Have also been thinking of mounting a 24" "damp locations" T5 light fixture on to the roll around cart to throw more light upwards at the under body but have not thought out the mounting. (damp location fixtures have a plastic lens covering the fluorescent tube)

Getting aligned with the Centerline Of The Lift...

I put a mirror on the wall in front of the lift, and used black duct tape to put a line down the center of the floor where the lift is.

When you pull in the garage, lean over so your head is in the center of the vehicle. Look in the mirror and line up the center of the front license plate with the line on the floor.

Easy Peazy, works every time.

I painted a set of symmetrical lines on the floor with some hash marks of sorts. If I am guiding I can steer someone if I am the driver can stick head out the window and use one line.

Hello I also have a rotary lift got the power air hookup and the truck extensions and holder when I bought it also got a exhaust blower because my lift is in the back of the building and it vents out the overhead door.

According to amazon, I bought it in april of 14. The handle on mine is different than what is pictured. but all in all, great hd stands.

Drain buckets are great, but IMO almost useless unless you get a trans funnel

Awesome I'll order a tray. I plan on getting couple stands.... I'm just been waiting to find the right set for right price. I want a set as I work alone and a little extra safety is always good.

Nice lift and accessories.

I have a similar 16-gallon air evacuated oil drain cart that I love. I purchased mine from NAPA and other than the color looks very similar to your Lincoln. I also have a NAPA transmission jack that I use and like a lot.

I don't have my electrical, lighting or air attached to my two-post as they are on my walls. I have thought about adding some overhead but haven't actually done it, don't know that I will as I really haven't run across any time where what I have hasn't worked perfectly.

To be honest the oil drain caddy has been awesome it's 3/4 full and I'm very pleased with the quality of wheels tank and fittings. It rolls extremely well and works great. It seams very well built especially compared to the China built one at the store I got it from.
The trams jack for $60 and a litre of oil seams like a better way to go them $480 for a 2 stage. Especially when I'll probably only use it a couple times. I bought it cause I'm doing a chev t case rub fix install on my old truck and my brothers. I think it will work just fine. I see the advantage of a 2 stage but really it's not that much better, ya it's lower and lifts higher but I have a overhead crane so getting a ****** on / off is no problem. And if it does not lift high enough I can build a tube and space it up....or just lower car lift down!

If I was doing it everyday I can see your point but cash vs use I figured it's cheaper than renting one! Plus when I'm done I'm sure I can get $60 for it!

i bought a zebralight headlamp with two rechargable batteries. When working under a vehicle (or anywhere else you need good lighting) the headlamp puts light exactly where you are looking. i find it so comfortable to wear that i forget that i have it own. Just don't look directly at another person when the light is on as it will temporarily blind the other person. Don't look at yourself in a mirror either. You can buy one through Amazon. Costs about $89. Add in two rechargable batteries and the cost should be just over $100.

I took one of those metal oil drain caddies and converted it to dispense gear oil through a hose when the tank is pressurized to 10-15 psi. No more goofing around with trying to upend those plastic squeeze bottles or that cheap plastic pump you attach to said bottles.

Tread carefully.... A non pressure designed container inadvertently pressurized with air to 10-15 psi may result in that gear oil being dispersed somewhat evenly over your entire shop and it's contents.

Mine came with a regulator and air fittings, that's how you empty the used oil out of it.

Yeah, just like mine. All I had to do was plug the hole where the drain funnel was and put a little tiny ball valve on the dispensing hose. I added a sight gauge on the side so I know when to buy more gear oil.

I did something similar but use a old garden sprayer. After 25 years of working on cars at home its one of the best things I have ever done.

Hi all you old guys and soon to be old guys,

The best accessory for an overhead lift is a pair of Garage Glasses.....

When you get your eyeglass prescription updated, just get a second pair with the bi-focal part at the top of the lens and not the bottom.......

That way when working under the car all you have to do is look up and tilt your head......

It's a lot easier than lifting your glasses or wearing reading glasses....

That's been a trick for 40 years......

Oh, and I dropped air and power from the ceiling about one foot from and above one column to the carriage, ran the lines out one arm and put a double duplex handi-box and air QD at the end of the arm. Length such that the carriage goes to the floor without ripping the lines out of the ceiling of course, ha ha. When the lift is up the utility lines hang in a loop next to the column. This 1) puts the receptacles and air right where I want them, under the car, 2) doesn't have me reeling out hose and extension cords on the floor to trip over, and 3) costs less then reelers.
