I am moving from an oversized garage to a smaller shop. I was wondering if anyone has ever put a 2 post mohawk lift in the same bay with a bendpak 4 post lift. I was thinking about using an 18 ft door here. The garage is going to be 46 foot wide with 4 spots for cars. Id like to keep room on the side to put my cabinets and such since it will only be 26 feet deep and thats why I was leaning towards using two double doors over mabe a double and 2 singles. 16 foot doors just seem to small for everday use. The assortment will be both cars and full size trucks

It all depends on how wide the lifts are. I just spec'd a garage with two 8 foot doors with a 4 foot column in between. One bay has a 12 foot wide 2-post and the other a 8 foot wide 4-post and this was the only way I could get enough room to open the doors of my cars under the 4-post and not whack a 2-post column.

With an 18 foot door and 46 feet of total width for 4 bays, you'll probably want to go narrow on both lifts. (I have three bays across 37 feet and feel a little tight between the two bays with 4-post lifts in them. My main objective is to get enough space to open my car doors all the way in at least one bay at a time.)

If you are going to heat the garage, you might also want to concider doing separate doors for energy efficiency. As well, with two lifts side-by-side, you won't be able to use the middle of the 18 foot space for driving a car due to the lift posts. You can go much leaner on the doors and openers with smaller doors centered on the lifts.
