2 post lift anchor question

Hey guys,

I am currently installing my Mohawk System 1 2 post lift that I bought used. I did not come with anchor bolts, so I picked up some locally. They are 3/4" x 6.25" long bolts and each post uses 8. The Mohawk instructions say to torque the bolts to 60-80 ft/lb. The anchor box says to torque to 110 ft/lb or 80 ft/lb if using for a deck. What is everyones opinions on this? Or what do you have yours torqued to?

My rotary said to torque to 150 ft/lb. 3/4" anchors

The bolts on my Mohawk get torqued to 80.

Don't know what anchors the dealer used when he installed my lift. Maybe they are different from yours.

Unless the bolts you bought are identical to the ones that originally came with the lift, follow the instructions on the box. It might be worthwhile to contact the lift maker and ask their advise too.

Yes, there's no reason not to contact the lift manufacturer and talk to an engineer. If you tell him exactly what anchors you've got he can tell you exactly what to do with them and even if they're appropriate. You said they're 6.25" long, how thick is your pad? Most residential concrete pads are 4" thick...

My Challenger lift instructions say to set bolts at 150 ft lbs and maintain at 80 ft lbs. I'm not saying this will apply to the Mohawk, but it stands to reason you'd torque the bolts to 110 lbs to set per the bolt instructions and then maintain them at 60 - 80 per the Mohawk instructions. My bolts were 3/4" X 5.5".
