2 post lift - cylinders move?

Hey two post lift owners...

I've had a 2 post lift for around 6 months now and was cleaning around it and noticed when the lift is all the way down, the cylinders move/wobble quite a bit.

Is that normal on chain driven 2 post lifts? Do the carriages also have side to side movement.

I am probably being paranoid, but better safe than sorry!

It's normal, mine moves around when not under load.

Yup...they float around until loaded. You're OK....and safety conscience.

I wish I would have installed it myself so I know what to look for, and how things were exactly during the install.

I'm a new 2 post lift owner also, (BendPak) and was surprised when I first noticed my cylinders moving when the lift is down.
Both cylinders sit on "buttons" ,hard to believe they stay there,but all is well.

I was also surprised when I first saw the cylinders moving freely when not loaded...

But, it's normal !
