Those aren't particularly heavy vehicles, no worse then a pick up truck. It almost looks like the lift arm on the right side is what started the failure.

probably the left front lift pad slipped off the frame/rail, vehicle tipped, right front pad slipped, vehicle tipped, left rear pad kicked out,....

doubt if it was a lift failure at all.

I believe you may be correct. It does appear the front left pad initially moved, causing the other arms to slip. The unanswered question at this point is what caused the left arm to slip? Don't know if we can answer that given the limited video..

Weird how their first reaction was to try to catch it. That is a scary though. BACK AWAY!

Hard to tell from the B/W video from the front but it looks like the RF arm is gone.

A car fall of the hoist at one shop I worked at from the LF arm kicking out. From that case the first arm to move kicked out completely.

looks like the arms weren't locked in position and they slipped out from under the frame.

Thats what I saw. Right side front looks like it squirted out from under, then the right rear and off she goes. I was thinking "aren't you supposed to pin those arms in place once set?"

Is it just me that finds it strange a guy is filming this? You can tell it's a handheld.
How long has he been waiting?
Insurance scam?

Looks like a security cam to me. Might be a guy recording a recording.

OMG!!!! I bet that lift wasn't certified by GLI !!:shocking: I'm sure if they paid the extortion, the lift would have held the car until the cows came home.

There's a guy at the front right doing something near the arm when it goes. I'm willing to bet he's got the thing balanced on the other 3 and trying to adjust that 4th arm or something stupid.
