If that picture of the TA on the wood support is using the LVL's mentioned laid flat, you need to have your head examined. LVL material is strong as all get out when used as designed, laid flat, it doesn't have anywhere the strength of plain old 2x stock and can fail without notice. If I'm seeing the picture wrong, excuse me but if it is being used on the flat, watch out. I have seen LVL material just being used as a staging plank give way with just one guy on it.

I was also thinking this... do your thing, just be careful!

It can be, but it weighs ~400lbs. I made provisions to be able to pick it up with the forks on my tractor. I don't expect to have to remove it, as it is my second lift and is only used to store the 911 or the boxster.

I like this! All you have to do is install some kind of removable wheels and roll it outside to use the lift to work on!

Another thought would be to setup a hoist to suspend it above the working area. I know you would not be able to lift it higher than the cross bar, but you could get it out of the way to have the bay open and with cars you could even use the lift.

Another idea would be to remove the two transverse connections that are doing almost no structural work anyway. That would give you two smaller 200 lb pieces to move and store, a little more convenient.

Clever solution. Agree with the reasoning for not allowing the suspension to be at full droop. Running JRZ RS Pro's for shocks? Pricing seems to be in line. I assume you track the car (or why put that much suspension on it?).

Those little pieces of steel that sit on each pad seems small to me...but I'm not a structural engineer. Those four pieces carry all the load (1/4 of the mass on each). Still, great solution to your storage issue.

I was kind of wondering that too? Ya built the whole thing out of bigger material then the 4 places that endure the most load is smaller? I'm sure it works but why not just build the whole thing out of same materials ?

if your just looking for storage then go with the 4 post and you will be a lot happier.. you can do basic maintenance on your vehicle no problem. you don't need to bolt them down on all models as some are easily made mobile even with a car on them and they might even give you more headroom

Does anyone knows the opening size on the Mohawk adapter that corresponds with the opening on the 2 post lift arms? I have Challenger 10,000 lift and I am interested in purchasing the Mohawk adapters

Thanks
