I bought and installed a used Challenger CL10 2 post lift. It is the early model with the fixed screw in footpads. I need a couple of extra inches of height to reach the frame on my 56 gmc truck. What do people use? Is it safe to use a 4x4 block on the pads? Challenger Co. said they dont make the extenders anymore.

I regularly use wood blocks on the pads to lift my cars. 2x4, 3/4 plywood, true 2x4, 4x4. Just make sure you are confident it is stable. You could also look to see if extenders from other brands fit your holes.

Thanks for the info! I have used wood blocks before on floor jacks , but this is my first lift and i guess i was worried about vibration. Will definately take it slow and safe.
