2 Post Lift Instalation Question

Hey guys,

here is my shop

Now the opening you see is to reinforce the old flooring to be sure that it will support the lifts the opening is 5 feet I was gion to go 6 inches of concrete what do you guys think is it wide engough? strong enough?
Any recommendations?

yeah 6 inches plus probably. Call up a concrete man for some free advice... if not though, myself, personally, I would go 6 inches down from where you're at right now run a plate compactor on that hole for a while,get a whole bunch of 5/8 rebar and go nuts with it up into/ under whatever the adjoining slab edges, then order up some 4000 psi ready mix get it to about a 5 inch slump, set it, wait a week before drilling anchor holes, wait a month before using the lift.

You need to check with the lift manufacturer for the specs when pouring a replacement pad for the lift. My two post lift has a spec sheet that calls for a 12 inch thick pad that is about 160 inches by 48 inches and is keyed into the original slab.

Pattenp, what brand and strength of lift do you have? 12" thick concrete is a bunch. I'm shopping for a lift my new place. I'm leaning towards a Mohawk 9 or possibly a 10k and (as best I recall) they only ask for 6" of 3000 psi.
