Help me from making a mistake. My 10k 2 post shows up Friday 6/15, I have been working hard to make sure I install it in the best location for my needs.

Current thought as seen in the attached image.

Lift set back 17' from rear wall. (42" Pallet rack on rear wall leaving 13'6" from CL of lift to first obstacle) This will leave me a space of 32'4" to the door to the front of the lift. Due to this I would like to install the lift in a "back in" configuration, allowing max distance in front of the car when on the lift for servicing engines or what not.

Left CL set 8'6" from near wall (leaving 4'6" from inside of near column to inside of near wall) This would place the lift 20'10" from the far wall allowing space for a work bench and a future 4 post lift, with still about 4' of clearance between the two lifts.

Has anyone put a lift in where you have to back into it instead of pull forward? If so what are the downsides?

Thanks in advance, criticism always accepted.
