So,

Those of you that use additional jack stands to stabilize a car on a 2 post lift...how many do you use and where do you put them?

Usually just one under the hitch or rear axle on longer trucks. Small trucks and cars I don't generally use one. The only exception would be a FWD car pulling the entire subframe/power train module. I'll put the jackstand (deadman seems to be the local name for it, LOL ). Under the rear of the car on the unibody near the bumper area.

On a long vehicle like a truck, I put one under the hitch if it has one, or under the rear axle if it doesn't, and one under the front cross member on the front. On my cars I haven't needed any additional support.
