2 post lift power unit relocation

I am in the process of installing a Forward lift BP9. Instead of mounting the power unit to the column, I am interested on mounting in on the wall need a door. This would result in needing a much longer hydraulic line. So my question is, will a longer hydraulic line (about 30 feet as opposed to about 4 feet) be an issue?

The length won't matter as long as it's quality line.
What is the lock release system? is it Pneumatic and relocatable or cable and attached to the lift?

Don't know why or the reasoning for relocating it 30 feet away...
BUT I know I would not be comfortable hitting that lever from that distance. I'm sure there will 100 more comments as to why others wouldn't either.

I mean, sometimes I wish the lever was at the bottom of the post so I can watch the contact to car.
Those "safety locks" sometimes move the arm a little till the gear seats.

The lock release is attached to columns. Each side has its own release.
My reasoning for the 30 feet is for routing the line to the ceiling, over to the wall, and down wall to power unit. The power unit itself will be about 5 feet away from the lift. I was thinking of mounting it in a place where I had a better escape route should things go really wrong. I am not dead set on this, but I am considering it. Seemed like a reasonable thing to do. I welcome pros and cons so please keep them coming. I know I am overthinking it, just wanted to see if anyone else has done or wanted to do something similar.

Adding twenty or thirty feet of pressurized hose would cause me more heartburn and anxiety than standing near the lift while operating it. Remember, the post is between you and the vehicle, so even if it falls off the lift, you’re somewhat out of harms way.

An exploding hydraulic line is more of a risk.

if thats an issue get the braided Kevlar sheathing for hose.
And use good USA hose 4500psi or better

I think this week I’m going to stop by a local hydraulics company and see what some options might be. Worse case, I just hook everything up as designed. That is interesting about the braided Kevlar, I didn’t know that was even a thing.

I mounted mine on the wall using the existing lines so I could put the post up against the wall.

I just purchased a 25ft line from a local supplier. Parker hose. 6000psi working pressure. Max system pressure is 3300ish psi so I should be good to go. They guy at the hydraulic place said it’s burst pressure has 4 times the working pressure. So it should take in excess of 24,000psi to make the hose burst. I also upgraded the line that runs between columns while I was in there. I’ll post a picture after I get everything set up. Might be a while though. Thank you all for the input!
