I recently purchased a used Wheeltronic 8020 2 post for my garage. “Works great, was used everyday” and for the price i couldnt pass it up. That said, its been a bit now and i still cannot get it to cooperate. First the check valve right outside the powerpack was bad, replaced that. Then the microswitch was bad, replaced that. Finally got both sides going up. Now comes my current problem. The lift goes up, but wont come down. Only way it to crack the lines on the cylinders and drain them. Tried having a couple local hydraulic shops look at it and none were interested. Im pretty much at a loss, its going to the scrap yard shortly unless i can figure this out. Fairly familiar with hydraulics in general, but not in this application apparently. Any help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise to the yard it goes. Thank you

You said the check valve was bad. If there is a check valve in line how is the oil going to drain back? Are you sure what you replaced was a check valve?

What reason did the seller give for not using the lift anymore?

The check valve you replaced, was it the Pilot Operated Check Valve or the Flow Control Valve? Was it a Wheeltronic part?
Did you bleed the hydraulics after replacing the valve?

One way to make it easier is to convince yourself it'll work with a non-pilot-operated check valve and simplify it. But only if you want to.

On that lift there is a pilot operated check valve and a flow control valve. I suspect you changed one or the other with an incorrect part. See parts diagram below.

Did you ever figure out your issue? I'm having the same problem with a 11144 model. I think my issue is in the equalizer valve/valve block. Both arms will go up, but only the slave side will come down when the bypass valve is open.

WHAT FIXED IT ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. LOOKS LIKE THE CHECK VALUE IS NOT LETTING THE OIL RETURN TO THE TANK

Yelling at the OP won't make them come back and answer you. Jc390 posted once and never came back. Sometimes it's best to ask your own question in a new thread.
