2 post Lift Pumps??

Which side are most pumps mounted on for 2 post lifts, or can you mount them on either side on the arms? I am going to get a Ben Pak, but I have not purchased it yet and I need to give my electrician an idea as to where to rough the wires at in my new garage.

I would think that on a symmetrical lift it doesn't matter, on an asymmetrical lift it does matter. The pump is probably already attached to the lift post. You should be able to get a floor plan diagram that shows where the wiring needs to go.

typically if you can you'd want to mount it on the passenger side just to make the process of raising the car faster. With it on the passenger side you drive to the lifting position, get out set the drivers side lifting arms, go to passenger side, set the arms and raise the lift.

If it's on the drivers side you have to walk back to the drivers side after setting the passenger arms to raise the lift.

I put my drop on the driver side in the ceiling, but then just ran wire across the top of the lift and down the passenger side post.

On my Challenger two post there was no option as to where the pump was to be mounted. The pump mount bracket is on the passenger side column.

I have a bendpak xp10ac and the pump is mounted on the right or passenger side.

I'm unsure as to what advice to give you but I would call up Bendpak and ask them because they will know more than anyone here.

Rotary pumps mount on the passenger side as well. No option unless you get the 'in-bay' setup (which is more money...) In-bay uses electrical controls for both raising and lowering, and have controls on both sides of the lift.
