where did you place it, in middle of garage (front to back) or biased toward fron or back of garage. I am hoping to build on to my garage to the side, hope for 16' wide by 20' long...city code won't let me go any widen or I will be too close to property line, also only 11' high. thanks for inputs.

Be aware of where your garage door is when it is open. If possible, it is nice to be able to open it when there is a car up in the air. Or not lift the car into the open door!

If you haven't already installed the garage door, the tracks can be arranged to lift the door higher before it moves horizontally.

11' high ceiling? Your choices are limited for a two-post lift.

Regarding placement, I would place it as far forward (away from door) as possible. Be sure to leave enough room front/back to fit what you're planning to lift.

Try to get it away from the over head door. I can't put the door up with my car up. A real pain in the -ss. No air sun light etc.

Also get a machine that lets you open the car doors. Mine is so tight that its sometimes hard to get in to start. But I only have 500. in it so ***** too much.
