Hey Gents,
I lifted my Ram 1500 crew cab pickup tonight on a recently installed Atlas OH-10X 10,000lb extra-wide/extra-tall symmetrical 2-post lift, and it reminded me that I had wanted to post a few pictures and comments on the lift install. What an awesome tool!
I bought the lift from Greg Smith Equipment. In my opinion a well-made lift at a really good price point. They loaded it onto my trailer (picked up at their warehouse in Des Moines) and I unloaded at home with my Bobcat.

Used the Bobcat to stand up the posts. Actually the Bobcat provided the muscle power that allowed me to complete the entire installation solo. Once the posts were standing, it wasn't hard to shimmy them into place.

Floor is 5" 4000psi with rebar on an 18" grid. I didn't want to hit rebar when drilling the anchor holes, so relied on some pictures that I had taken before the floor was poured to mark in chalk where I thought the rebar was. It worked! I missed rebar on every hole. Or maybe just proof that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...

Bobcat also was used to lift the crossbar into place, then a matter of finishing the anchoring and the rest of the mechanical assembly. Inexpensive Harbor Freight rotary hammer drill made quick work of drilling the 3/4" anchor holes. I drilled all the way through the slab on the advice of fellow GJ members, who have pointed out that this allows pounding the anchors through the slab and into the dirt if an anchor would need to be replaced or removed in the future.

Lastly added lift arms, pump/motor, and electrical to get it fully commissioned.

Which brings us to tonight's oil change on my pickup... so happy to finally be done with floor jacks, jack stands, and crawling around underneath vehicles on my back! Not long ago I had to replace all of the brake lines on a '99 GMC Sierra, that job would have been 100x easier with this thing.

The 2-stage arms are a bit longer than ideal for my daughter's small Nissan Rogue. Still liftable, though. No problems for the larger Infiniti SUV.
